How much must I sell each day.
Add up what you pay every month and get the daily sales that cover it. Everything above that line is your profit.
Costs every month
Include your own pay if you draw one.
Permits, loan payments, packaging you buy in bulk.
Out of every 100 you sell, how much went on buying or making the goods? Not sure? Grocery and convenience shops are often 75–85, food shops 30–40.

What break-even means
Break-even is the level of sales where you have paid for the goods and all your monthly costs and have exactly nothing left over. Sell less and you are losing money that day; sell more and the extra is profit.
The goods you sell already cost you something, so only part of each sale is available to pay the rent. If the goods are 70% of the price, each 100 sold leaves 30 toward your fixed costs, which is why the sales you need are much larger than the bills themselves.
If the number looks impossible
There are only three levers: cut a fixed cost, lower what the goods cost you, or raise prices. Even a small improvement in the cost of goods moves this number a lot. The pricing calculator shows what a price change does per item.
Your numbers are worked out in your browser and are never sent anywhere.
Do this from your real sales
Kasenso is a free POS that works without signal. It tracks your actual costs and profit per item, so you are not working from estimates. How the calculator works.
