Kasenso POS ("Kasenso", "we", "us") provides a cloud-based point-of-sale application for restaurants and small businesses, available on the web and as an Android app. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Kasenso web app and the Kasenso Android app.

Information we collect

We collect only what's needed to run the point-of-sale service:

  • Account information: name, email address, username, and role (admin or cashier), created when you or your business owner sets up an account.
  • Business information: business name, address, phone number, tax identification number, and logo, entered voluntarily in Settings to appear on receipts and reports.
  • Business operations data: products, categories, recipes, inventory levels, orders, sales, expenses, and staff records — the data you create by using the app to run your business.
  • Authentication data: handled entirely by Firebase Authentication (Google Cloud). We never store passwords ourselves.

We do not collect location, camera, microphone, or contacts data, and the app requests no such device permissions.

How we use information

  • To operate core features: taking orders, tracking inventory, managing staff access, and generating reports.
  • To keep your data in sync across devices in real time, including while offline (data queues locally on your device and syncs automatically once you're back online).
  • To let you export your business data as a JSON backup file, or share it (e.g. a printed receipt) using your device's native share sheet.
  • To communicate with you about your account, such as email verification or password reset.

We do not use your data for advertising, do not run third-party analytics or ad-tracking SDKs inside the Kasenso web app or Android app, and do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

Our marketing website

Our public pages — the home page, pricing, blog, and resources — use Google Analytics to measure aggregate traffic: which pages are visited, and which site or search a visitor arrived from. This is separate from the application itself. No business, sales, staff, or customer data is involved, and the analytics script is not loaded once you are signed in to the POS, nor anywhere in the Android app.

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser. You can block them through your browser settings or a content blocker with no effect on the app.

Where data is stored

Data is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore, Firebase Storage, and Firebase Authentication), hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. On the Android app and in offline mode, a copy of your recent data is cached locally on your device so you can keep working without a connection; it syncs back to Firebase automatically once you're online.

Data sharing

Business data is only visible to accounts belonging to that business (its admins and staff), enforced by access rules on our database. We do not share your data with third parties, except infrastructure providers (Google Firebase) strictly necessary to operate the service.

Data retention & deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all associated business data at any time from Settings → Danger Zone. Deletion is scheduled 30 days out so you have time to change your mind or download a backup first; you can cancel the scheduled deletion at any point before it completes.

Children's privacy

Kasenso is a business tool intended for restaurant and shop owners and their staff. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
